Moment Meaning Move · Part 2 of 3
"No one can tell your story better than you can."
— Crispin Cain, President, Mendocino Spirits
Crispin Cain said that to me on camera. 37 years of distilling whiskey in Mendocino County — and that’s what it came down to.
Not the brand. Not the awards. Not the craft.
Who can tell my story better than me?
That question is the whole thing. And it’s the reason I do this work.
After his videos went live, Crispin traveled to Texas to visit retailers. He walked into a store — someone he’d never met — and they looked up and said: “You’re that guy in the video.”
Before he said a word about his product, they already knew him.
That’s not marketing. That’s recognition. And for a small business owner operating out of a remote county with no boots on the ground, it changed everything.
There’s a moment in almost every project where something shifts. Crispin described it as stepping past the script — finding the place where he could come from his heart and his head at the same time.
That’s the moment I’m always trying to help people find.
I work with L&D professionals and small business owners who have real expertise and real results — and a story that isn’t reaching the people who need to hear it. Video is the fastest path from “I know this person exists” to “I trust this person.” But only when the person on camera is actually themselves.
