Parallels, Windows and Printing

I needed to print an invoice from my Parallels Windows XP virtual machine running on my Macbook Pro. I found a blog Post that said I should print through Bonjour.

Sounds easy right?

After installing bonjour I could see the printer, but it would disappear 5 seconds after It was detected, and give me an error message saying “the printer is no longer available”.

I found after screaming at the machine the 5 required times there is a solution.

You must enable printer sharing on the Mac OS under Printers and sharing.

Once you share the printers you can print all your quickbooks and other programs that don’t run on Apple.
